Who is Ewa Pajor?
Poland’s next footballing legend
The last time I looked, football was a man’s game
Then look again. Striker Ewa is, according to UEFA, worthy of mention in the same breath as Lionel Messi.
Point taken. So what’s her record like?
She is currently a member of the senior team at her club KKPK Medyk Konin, where she has already scored her first maiden hat-trick.
What’s so special about that?
Ewa is only 16 years old.
Oh, right. A child prodigy, then?
Something like that. She represents Poland at women’s under-17 level too – and scored in the U17 semi-final against Belgium. The goal brought her tally for the competition to four.
What happened in the final?
Poland won it, of course. They beat Sweden 1-0 to become womens U17 champions of Europe.
And Ewa scored?
No, the goal came from her team mate Ewelina Kamczyk, but four goals is plenty for one 16-year-old in an international tournament.
So we’ll be hearing more about her?
For sure. She’s turning more attention to academic achievments right now, but aims to emulate her hero Cristiano Ronaldo.
